Parents are their child's first teacher. The first five years of life is a period of great development and learning. During these pre-school years children learn and develop:
* Social Competence
* Emotional Maturity
* Language Skills
* Cognitive or Thinking Skills
* Communication Skills
* General Knowledge
* Physical Skills.
These skills underpin all school programs. When children begin their formal schooling these skills are further developed in a structured environment.
The Information Sheets listed in the menu support parents to continue their role as their child's first teacher.
